Thatta murukku/ Thattai

thattai murukku, south indian savouriesRice flour - 1 cup
besan/gram flour - 1/4 cup
channa dal - 1tbsp
white ellu (sesame seed) - 1 tsp
red chilli powder or red chilli flakes - 1tbsp
broken peanuts - 1 tsp
butter - 2 tbsp

Soak the channa dal for about 1 hr, drain it and keep it aside. Now add all the ingredients one by one and mix it to chappathi dough consistency. Do not knead it more like you do for chappathi. Grease the plastic sheet/ziploc cover with little oil and spread the dough to desired size. Heat the oil in kadai and deep fry the murukku. Yummy savory is ready!
