This is my husband's favorite. I prepared this today for dinner. So here I go to the recipe.

Soy chunks - 20 chunks
cauliflower - 10 florets
onion - 1
tomato - 3
Jeera - 1 tsp
garam masala powder - 1 tsp
turmeric
List 1
fennel seeds
garlic - 2
ginger - 1 inch piece
split gram dal/pottukadali - 1 tbsp
coconut - 1tbsp
salt

  • Soak soy chunks in hot water for 20 mins.
  • In a kadai, pour 3 tbsp of oil and when it is hot add jeera.
  • When it is brown add oinon and saute it well.
  • Add chopped tomatoes. When it is soft add turmeric, gram malasa powder and saute it well.
  • Take half of the sauted tomatoes and onion along with the spieces, and let it cool.
  • Now add cauliflower florets and add little water and cook it well.
  • Add soy chunks in it and mix it well.
  • Now take the tomato onion mixture that is cooled and grind it along with other items in list 1 to a smooth paste.
  • Add it to the cooked cauliflower/soy chunks and mix it well. Add little water, salt, close the lid and let it cook well.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves.
It taste Yum with chappathi!
Tips:
To get rid of the smell from soy chunks, soak the chunks in hot water for 20 min and after that, wash and rinse it 3 or 4 times. Everytime you rinse, squeeze water completely and do the next rinse. When adding it to the curry squeeze of the water completely and then add.

This goes as an entry to Just For you event
