Coriander rice /Kothamalli satham

kothamalli satham coriander rice
Ingredients
Fresh green coriander leaves - 2 cups
tamarind pulp 
onion - little (optional)
mustard
salt

List 1
urad dal - 1 tsp
channa dal - 1/2 tsp
red chilli - 2
coriander seed - 1/2 tsp
jeera - 1/2 tsp


  • Chop and soak coriander leaves, in enough water and wash it off thoroughly.
  • In a pan, dry roast all the ingredients in the list 1 and set it aside.
  • Grind the coriander leaves along with the roasted ingredients along with tamarind pulp by adding little water, if required and make it to a fine paste.
  • Cook rice separately in the cooker
  • Now add a tbsp of oil and when it is hot add mustard to it.
  • When the mustard splutters, add little jeera and add chopped onions if used.
  • Add salt as required.
  • Now add the grounded paste and saute it until the excess water evaporates.
  • Let it cool down.
  • Mix it with rice and kothamali rice is ready!
