Curd Semiya

curd semiya
Ingredients

Semiya - 1 cup
Curd - 3 cups
salt

Seasoning
red chilli - 2
grated ginger
jeera
mustard
curry leaves

Garnishing
Carrot
coconut(optional)
coriander leaves

You can also use
raisins
grapes
pomegranate's
for garnishing.
Method:
  • In a wide pan add around 3 cups of water and heat it.
  • Add salt and a drop of oil.
  • Now add the semiya and let it cook. Make sure it is not overcooked.
  • When it is cooked and the semiya is soft, switch off the heat, and drain the water completely and run it through cold water and then drain it completely using the colander and let it cool. This prevents the semiya from sticking together.
  • Now in a big bowl, take 3 cups of curd.
  • To it add a little salt. Remember, we have already added a little to semiya.
  • In a pan add 1 tbsp of oil and prepare the seasoning, by adding mustard, jeera, ginger, red chillies and curry leaves.
  • Transfer it to the bowl of curd.
  • Now add the cooled semiya into the curd and mix it well.
  • Put in grated carrots, coriander leaves and other garnishing ingredients to the curd semiya and mix it well.
  • Yummy curd semiya is ready to serve!
This can be had as a light tiffin in the evening or for dinner, when you feel eating something light with less oil. Kids would love this..! It taste great with any pickle!
